Agrarian Trust catalyzes support for next-generation farmers by working with communities to acquire and steward land for equitable access, cultural reconnection, regenerative agriculture, and ecological restoration. Land access is a significant barrier for new farmers, with an estimated 400 million acres of U.S. farmland expected to change hands in the next 15 years. Aspiring farmers face challenges due to rising costs and short-term leases, particularly farmers of color, small-scale farmers, and organic/regenerative farmers. Agrarian Trust supports land access through community land ownership, providing legal tools, fundraising campaigns, grant writing experience, and a national platform for communities aiming to collectively own and care for land.
